We Won’t Feel a Thing on sale this month! (YA fiction / contemp fantasy)

Rachel and Riley woke me up last night. Well, Rachel did; Riley was kind of standing behind her, hiding under his blanket like Linus.

They were all like, “we want more eyeballs on us! WE ARE SO BORED.”

I told them to stop comparing themselves to Brandon and Abel and YA characters who have their own fanart (in my drowsy stupor, I believe I uttered the words “you’re a grower, not a shower”), but they weren’t convinced. “You made us pretty weird,” they said. “Truth cupcakes? Mad scientists? Sinister self-help programs? You don’t see John Green pulling this shit.”

I rolled out of bed and made them Molten Comfort Mac & Cheese, because they crave it all the time and I have only myself to blame. While I waited for the Velveeta to melt, I assured them that deep down their story is very sweet and romantic and, in time, will likely give an increasing number of readers All the Feels. “We don’t want to wait,” they said, doing all sorts of petulant foot-tapping and eyerolling. So because I am a nice, caring YA author and I don’t typically kill off characters when they ask for things, I put We Won’t Feel a Thing on sale for the month of July.

If you’ve had it on your TBR: thank you so much! go grab it! If you haven’t heard much about WWFaT, I hope you’ll take a chance on it. It’s a good summer read for those who burn easily and like Wes Anderson movies, except maybe that one that wasn’t so great.

If you’re one of the awesome folks who read it and left a review, a.) you are my sunshine, and b.) could you please help spread the word about WWFaT? I’m pasting a few quote graphics below, if you have a second to toss one up on Instagram/Pinterest/tumblr. (If you’re an author and you’d like me to post one of your quotes in return, send it to me at jclillisbooks AT gmail and I’ll put it up on The Great YA Quote Board.)

I’m also linking to the stop-motion book trailer for anyone who missed it the first time around, ’cause that thing took FOREVER and I’m still picking popsicle-stick splinters out of the carpet.

THANK YOU! <3
