It’s almost October, so you know what that is, right? Besides National Toilet Tank Repair Month, American Cheese Month, Feral Hog Month, and Squirrel Awareness Month? (I am not making any of these up.)
It’s time for another eye-opening, soul-baring, story-sharing
QUEER ROMANCE MONTH!
So this October, while you’re meditating on the existence of feral hogs and servicing your toilet tank, be sure to block off some quality time for QRM. Here’s a quick primer if you haven’t taken part before:
What it is
Queer Romance Month is a month-long celebration of romance across the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Every day in October, there’ll be three to four new posts from a variety of readers, writers, bloggers and other brilliant people. Contributors come from all corners of Romancelandia, united by a belief that love is love, romance is romance, and sexuality is not a subgenre.
All month, the QRM website will showcase essays, think pieces, flash fiction, and other good things inspired by this year’s theme: We All Need Stories. QRM participants will also be hopping around the blogosphere all October, bringing you exclusive interviews, audio clips, and video readings from their books and stories.
Why it’s awesome
Because everyone involved in Queer Romance Month is terribly brilliant and sexy.
More seriously, it’s a chance to talk about books you love or discover books you’re going to love in an exciting, diverse, and enthusiastic community. You’ll get actual, legit, brand-new content from a wide range of writers. AND you’ll get some great free stuff, too. (psssssst, ANNOUNCEMENT TIME: I’m contributing a story to a FREE Halloween anthology called Lead Me into Darkness,* along with some amazing m/m authors I’m super-honored to share bookspace with. The prompt involved graveyard tours so you KNOW you’ll want this on your ereader. Stay tuned for details!)
How to get involved
Here are a few ways to get involved in QRM:

- Subscribe by email or add the RSS to your feed-reader of choice.
- Follow and RT @QueerRomance on Twitter—get alerts when new posts go up, and help spread the word!
- Snag one of the gorgeous badges to display on your own site. Or use the badge temporarily as a Facebook or Twitter icon to show your support of Queer Romance Month.
- Tweet to @QueerRomance, leave comments on posts, and enter the giveaways.
