One way you can help Baltimore this week…
If you feel helpless watching the events unfolding in Baltimore this week, here’s a concrete way you can make a difference.
I got a sad message this afternoon from the YES Drop-In Center. This local organization does amazing work to help homeless youth in Baltimore, including young people in the LGBTQ community who need a safe space. Here’s how they were affected by last night’s events, and what you can do to support them:
I had the honor of visiting the center and interviewing YES staff members a couple years ago, and I can personally testify to the wonderful work they do with young people. Not only do they take care of immediate needs like meals and clothing, they also work with young adults to give them the skills they need to take on leadership roles in the Baltimore community.
Please consider donating whatever you can to help YES get back on its feet. Organizations like these are so important to Baltimore’s future as the city fights for positive change.
